Ink Dim sets the frontlight below the lowest level of the system.

Tap the icon. The light goes to the lowest level the hardware still lights. Tap
it again. The light goes back to the level the system holds.

The app has no screen. The icon is the whole app. The value holds across sleep,
until the system brightness is next set.

The system will not set the frontlight below its own floor, so Ink Dim writes
the light of the panel straight. That file belongs to the system, so the app
needs a shell. Shizuku gives it one. Shizuku is a separate free app that you
start from the device through wireless debugging. There is no computer and no
root.

There is a quick settings tile, "Extra dim". There are three intent actions, so
a key remapper can put the toggle on a hardware button:
dev.equwal.inkdim.TOGGLE, dev.equwal.inkdim.ON and dev.equwal.inkdim.OFF.

A long press on the icon opens a settings screen. It shows the state and the
steps to set Shizuku up.

Made for the Viwoods AiPaper readers. Other devices can have no light that the
app knows. Then the settings screen says so.

Ink Dim collects nothing. It has no INTERNET permission, no advertisements and
no analytics.

Free software, GPL-3.0-or-later.
