1 # Privacy 2 3 Ink Update collects nothing. 4 5 There is no account, no identifier, no advertisement and no analytics. The app 6 sends nothing to me. 7 8 ## The two hosts it contacts 9 10 The app makes one kind of request to each host. 11 12 **f-droid.org** 13 14 https://f-droid.org/api/v1/packages/<package name> 15 16 **api.github.com** 17 18 https://api.github.com/repos/<owner>/<name>/releases?per_page=10 19 20 Each host sees what any web server sees: your IP address and the name in the 21 address. The name is the package of a watched app, or the repository of a 22 watched app. The request carries a User-Agent that says "InkUpdate" and the 23 version. It carries no cookie and no account. 24 25 The app makes these requests when you tap "Check now", and once a day while the 26 daily check is on. It makes none of them for an app that Google Play installed. 27 28 ## What the app stores 29 30 The app stores the result of the last check on your device: the version it 31 found, the address of the page, and the time. It also stores whether the daily 32 check is on, and which version it last told you about. Android deletes all of 33 it when you uninstall the app. 34 35 ## The permissions 36 37 - **INTERNET** and **ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE** make the two requests above. 38 - **POST_NOTIFICATIONS** tells you that an update is ready. 39 - **RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED** keeps the daily check after you restart the 40 device. 41 42 The app cannot install an app. It opens a page, and you decide. 43 44 ## Contact 45 46 truex@equwal.com
